Effective camouflage patterns play a crucial role in military operations to counter aerial reconnaissance. These patterns are designed to blend with the surrounding terrain, making it difficult for enemy aircraft or drones to detect and identify military targets on the ground. The purpose of this research paper is to evaluate the effectiveness of different types of camouflage patterns under various terrain environments using salient object detection technique. The research methodology includes mapping the designed camouflage patterns onto stationary objects in an aerial image. The salient object detection technique is then applied to identify the effectiveness of each camouflage pattern in terms of concealing the objects from aerial reconnaissance. Based on the experiments, the study’s results showed that the digital camouflage design had optimal performance in both objective and subjective assessment across different terrains, effectively countering aerial reconnaissance.
