Applications of wireless sensor networks in IoT
Radhika Sreedharan · 2024
Wireless sensor networks (WSN) are a network illustration that utilizes dimensionally distributed sensing elements for collecting information regarding the instantaneous surroundings of the sensing elements and gathering the information centrally. The sensing elements are not incomparable gadgets, however an incorporation of sensing elements, processors, and radio units—known as nodes of sensing elements—observe the surroundings and transmit the observed data wirelessly to a distant locality, which may or may not be linked to a core network. The primary goal of this topic is to explain the use of WSNs in IoT systems. A WSN comprises of distributed gadgets with sensing elements that are utilized for supervising atmospheric and physical conditions. This chapter provides the overview of WSN and IoT applications in various domains.
