E-Learning Methods and Tools for Effective Teaching in Networking and Cybersecurity Courses

This paper presents various methods and tools for effectively teaching the concepts in data communications, networking, and cybersecurity. The topics may be covered in one or two senior undergraduate course(s) or one first year graduate CS course. Methods of effective E-Learning, including blended and cooperative learning are discussed and applied in the design of these courses. The covered topics range from basic concepts of data communications to some of the advanced cybersecurity concepts now considered as one of the core CS areas.
