Conducting a Data Protection Audit using Block chain

Purnima Ahirao, Yogita Borse, Apurv Kulkarni · 2024

With the growing reliance on the internet, sharing personal data with large online companies has become inevitable, often used by them for financial gains. Governments have introduced regulations like Europe's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and India's Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) act2023 to safeguard against the unauthorized profit-driven sharing of personal data. Organizations need to comply with these regulations before sharing data with other compliant entities, overseen by a Data Protection Officer (DPO). However, potential bribery risks compromise the thoroughness of audits. Our solution utilizes a blockchain-based data protection audit, leveraging the technology's immutability, decentralization, consensus, and transparency to ensure fair and uncompromised audits.
