To ensure the operational safety of high-speed trains, 5G-railway(5G-R) demands higher reliability compared to the public 5G network. It necessitates the adoption of Cross Connection Redundancy (CCR) technology, utilizing Remote Radio Units (RRUs). This study focuses on the analysis of delay imbalance issues introduced by CCR technology in the 5G-R system. This paper begins by introducing the system model of RRU redundancy and conducting an analysis of delay-related parameters. Subsequently, theoretical analysis and mathematical modeling explore the impact mechanism of these delay-related parameters on coverage performance. Finally, the theoretical analysis results are validated through simulation experiments, comparing the extent of the impact of delay variation on coverage performance. The experimental findings indicate that significant delay variations, when combined with RRU’s CCR technology, lead to a degradation in the coverage performance of the railway 5G-R communication system.
