The complications in computation in present-day power are growing systems by the day, and if this trend continues, conventional computers will fail to fulfil computational ability necessary for the more complex power grids. As a solution to deal with these problems, Quantum Computing (QC) is introduced. Data can now be processed in a manner faster than ever with the help of QC technology. This technology contains the potential to set benchmarks on constraints of computation which include simulations, and issues in machine learning, swift answers. Nowadays, QC has become more useful as there has been considerable amount of development in creation of advance algorithms. Even though substantial work is done, there is still a lot of work being done. It would be essential for us to view reviews of research done, to visualize the capabilities of QC and its potential when it goes hand-in-hand with smart grid. This article contains the summary of the results of researches of research works done recently, and spotlights the suggestions for using the techniques of QC for implementation of smart grid. Furthermore, it contains demonstrations of many QC reports in many numerous fields of research.
