CUSTOMIZED VIRTUAL FILE SYSTEM
International Research Journal of Modernization in Engineering Technology and Science · 2024
The purpose of this project is to use the C programming language to develop a simple Customised Virtual File System (CVFS).CVFS serves as a "manager" for files and folders on a computer's hard drive. It makes it easier for users to deal with files by providing commands such as Lseek, Create, RM, LS, Stat, and Fstat.Several components are created within the project to address different aspects of file management.File tables and inodes are data structures that can be used to track file properties such as names, sizes, and permissions.Functions enable actions such as creating and opening files, reading and writing data, and searching for specified locations inside files. The major function is as a command centre where users may enter commands to manipulate files.Users interact with CVFS through a control center-like interface.Another element of the programme is error checking, which assists with unexpected outcomes such as missing files or insufficient RAM.
