An efficient trust region algorithm with bounded iteration sequence for unconstrained optimization and its application in support vector machine

In this paper, we propose an efficient trust region algorithm for unconstrained optimization problem. Different from the traditional trust region algorithm, our algorithm obtains the next iteration point by projection after getting the trust region trial step. The main feature of this algorithm is that it generates a bounded iteration sequence automatically, and it retains the excellent convergence properties. The numerical tests for support vector machine(SVM) and some unconstrained optimization test sets problems show the efficiency of the proposed algorithm.
