Jikuan Xu · 2023

The world is in the midst of a new era of intensive breakthroughs in computer technology, with fifth-generation mobile communications technology (5G) pushing network technology into an important phase of change - represented by the arrival of the “cloud computing” era. However, this has also created some inevitable problems, such as the breakthroughs achieved by cloud gaming, which will bring new challenges to the sustainable development of the gaming industry and the protection of intellectual achievements. From the perspective of intellectual property rights, it is important to prevent changes in infringement patterns and to regulate emerging game types to avoid the breeding of hidden dangers. To address these issues, on the one hand, it is necessary to encourage and protect the originality of game works and the application of new technologies, stimulate the innovation vitality of the industry, and encourage relevant enterprises to enter into new game modes; on the other hand, it is also necessary to pay attention to the integrity of the game, to further regulate the secondary market, and to actively build an intellectual property rights protection system that is suitable for games. In turn, we should comply with the trend of internationalization of games and formalization of e-sports, and jointly help the continuous upgrading and development of the field of computer technology.
