An Extension to the Lightweight Blockchain Scheme for Some Cases of Internet of Things Systems : A protocol for secure transferring IoT sensors between edge nodes

A scheme of lightweight blockchain suitable for the use in resource-constrained devices such as sensors of the Internet of Things was proposed recently. The need of strict binding the sensors to specific edge computers was considered as the main limitation of the mentioned scheme. In this paper, we propose a method to eliminate this disadvantage by securely transferring sensors between edge nodes. The proposed method can be based on the public key infrastructure deployed previously, therefore, it does not require any additional equipment, but it allows to extend drastically the application sphere of the aforementioned scheme by means of providing the availability to rearrange freely sensors between edge nodes without losses in the system’s security.
