In healthcare IoT applications, there are critical requirements for network quality of service (QoS) parameters like latency, reliability, throughput, and security. However, with the traditional network architecture of IoT being used for healthcare applications, the QoS parameters are compromised. The healthcare applications can be broadly categorized as healthcare in hospitals, remote healthcare, and medical supply chains. The hospital healthcare requirements are location-specific and time-critical. The modern architecture with multi-edge layer (multiaccess edge) computation can be the best solution for hospital medical data processing. In this research work, we have implemented a hospital healthcare IoT architecture with three layers, namely, sensing layer, edge layer, and application layer. Based on the type of computation being carried out, the edge layer is divided into two sub-layers, 1. Date Acquisition and Diagnosis Layer (DADL), 2. Data Processing and Forwarding Layer (DPFL). The DADL gateways collect the medical data from the nodes and process it for disease diagnosis under cardio, urological, etc. The DPFL gateways process the data further for recommending the treatment for the disease. The application developed is made interactive so that authorized users can have access through the user interface (UI). The authorized doctors can make changes in the treatment to make it more effective.
