A Study on Password Protection and Encryption in the era of Cyber Attacks

This project seeks to explore and understand how passwords work currently and how to create strong passwords to protect the user's personal data. That research will be used to design a program that will generate a password for users using random characters, numbers, and symbols. The randomly generated password will then be salted and hashed to create a hashed password. The hashed password would then have a visible place holder that the user can use when signing into different platforms, but that place holder will be backed by the actual password for some added protection. The purpose of this project is to begin to explore ways users can begin creating strong passwords for the online data and in turn begin to decrease the number of data breeches due to poor password security.
