Counterfeit currency poses a significant challenge in financial transactions, particularly for visually impaired individuals. Counterfeit currency is fake money produced to imitate genuine legal tender, often with the intent to deceive and use it for unlawful financial transactions. This work has proposed an Android application named "Sahayaka" developed to address the issue of identifying counterfeit currency. The application is specifically designed to assist visually impaired individuals in identifying real and fake Indian currencies. Leveraging machine learning algorithms for this use case enables real-time identification of currency denominations and detection of counterfeit notes. The application aims to empower visually impaired individuals to independently participate in financial transactions, and reduce the risk of financial losses due to counterfeit currency. The effectiveness of this application is demonstrated through experiments and the results highlight the potential of the application in mitigating the challenges associated with counterfeit currency detection and enhancing the integrity of financial transactions.
