Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) play a crucial role in diverse applications such as environmental monitoring, healthcare, and industrial automation. The selection of a routing protocol significantly impacts the overall performance and efficiency of these networks. The project conducts a comprehensive comparative analysis of two prominent routing protocols, Ad Hoc On-Demand Distance Vector (AODV) and Destination-Sequenced Distance Vector (DSDV), within the context of a WSN. The primary objective of this study is to assess the performance of AODV and DSDV routing protocols in a controlled simulation environment using the NS2 tool. Key performance measures examined include average throughput, packet drop rate, packet delay, and the number of successfully transmitted data packets. These metrics are vital for evaluating the efficiency and reliability of routing protocols in a WSN.
