Overcoming language barriers has long been a significant barrier to global communication and cooperation. With the advancement of AI technology, a new era of simple, effective, and highly precise translation procedures has arrived. AI-powered translation technologies have proven a game changer in terms of breaking down language barriers and increasing global understanding. In this research, we construct and evaluate two AI models for English-French text conversion: the Gated Recurrent Unit-Long Short-Term Memory (GRU-LSTM) and the Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers-Bidirectional Gated Recurrent Unit (BERT-BiGRU). A massive dataset from Kaggle, which has a large amount of data, was obtained to assist with this investigation. The BERT-BiGRU model outperforms the competition, scoring 75.26% on BLEU, 89.52% on precision, 28.33% on recall, and 78.35% on NIST. These results indicate the model’s capacity to finish translation tasks with high precision and fluency. Following that, an AI-based chatbot was created using the BERT-BiGRU approach. This chatbot delivers quick text translation between English and French to let the general public engage more successfully regardless of linguistic barriers. The innovative implementation of the chatbot allows users to have natural conversations across language borders, boosting mutual understanding and communication all across the world.
