The AR field has benefited from the growing use of technology. Today, new opportunities for using AR in various application domains have emerged. Moreover, AR will be consolidated as a daily use technology in a few years. This chapter discusses the AR challenges and trends. A challenge is considered as something that is difficult and needs great mental effort to be done successfully. In comparison, a trend is considered a direction of change in how something behaves. First, a set of technological, usability, ergonomics, and social challenges are discussed. Then, the industry, education, multimodal AR, gastronomy, marketing, and metaverse trends are explained. Finally, the reader will have an overview of the main challenges that AR will have to face in the coming years. In addition, the reader will understand AR trends in different application fields.
