Abstract: This chapter explores into the transformative world of Edge AI, a technological innovation that brings the power of artificial intelligence to the edge of the network, enabling real-time intelligence across various sectors. By processing data locally on devices, Edge AI drastically reduces latency, optimizes bandwidth usage, and enhances privacy and security, marking a significant shift from traditional cloud-based data analysis. The exploration begins with an overview of Edge AI, including its definition, components, and the key technologies that facilitate its implementation. It then highlights the critical need for real-time intelligence in applications such as autonomous vehicles, healthcare monitoring, and smart manufacturing, illustrating the limitations of cloud computing in meeting these demands. The advantages of Edge AI, including latency reduction, bandwidth optimization, and enhanced privacy and security, are discussed in detail.
