HMS) for tracking the well-being of elderly has been highlighted by academics and healthcare experts. HMS comes with huge benefits along with humongous confidential patient- centric data generated. HMS are exposed to security threats due to weak cybersecurity, old systems, and close connectedness with access points which results in high security threat to privacy of patient’s data. To address the HMS security issues, many researchers suggested various security methods. However, HMS will continue to provide significant risk to privacy, security, and forward secrecy, if all security components (availability, confidentiality and integrity) are not addressed. The existing literature highlights the integration of blockchain technology into a security framework aimed at providing high-level security in healthcare management systems (HMS). By harnessing the capabilities of blockchain, this framework demonstrates the potential to effectively handle diverse security attacks, thereby reducing the reliance on centralized authorities for performing various operations. In this paper, we present a comparative analysis of the state-of-art blockchain-enabled security framework for the HMS through case studies.
