More trustworthy and powerful antispam filters are desperately needed given the rise in the number of unsolicited emails known as spam.Recent advances in machine learning techniques have made it possible to effectively identify and filter spam emails.We offer a thorough analysis of a few of the well-liked machine learning-based email spam filtering strategies.Our review includes an overview of the key ideas, approaches, effectiveness, and current research directions in spam filtering.The study background's initial topic looks at how machine learning techniques are applied to the email spam filtering processes of the top internet service providers (ISPs), including Gmail, Yahoo, and Outlook.The general email spam filtering process was discussed, as well as the numerous ways that researchers have used machine learning approaches to battle spam.Our evaluation contrasts the benefits and limitations of current machine learning techniques with the unresolved issues in spam filtering research.Our recommendation for future approaches that can successfully tackle the problem of spam emails is deep learning and deep adversarial learning.
