Evaluation of Secure Methods for Migrating Virtual Machines to the Cloud

Harmeet Kaur, Shubham Gargrish · 2024

Cloud services are becoming more popular due to their numerous benefits, such as their low cost, dependability, and user-friendliness. Data security protocols have been created in response to the increasing demand. It is critical for cloud computing security to ensure that data and services can only be accessed by authorized users. To safeguard cloud-based platforms, ML-dependent solutions have been employed, even though cryptographic procedures are still the principal means of guaranteeing security. Any information technology infrastructure might benefit significantly from artificial intelligence’s capacity to assess data in real-time while providing threat information. When migrating VMs, it is crucial to keep security in consideration. Conducting an analysis of cloud security methods used during VM migration is the primary goal of this work. Beyond that, we have covered the various ML methods used for cloud security. In addition, certain properties such as accuracy, data security, computational speed, time savings, throughput, and so on have been used to compare ML methods with cryptographic algorithms for inference gathering. Apart from this comparative analysis based on cryptographic approaches for cloud migration has been done based on metrics like authentication process, delay, throughput and CIA triad consideration. We could enhance cloud security methods for VM migration through integrating ML with cryptography procedures.
