Samples from the CMN collection. Subspecies assignments were based on Hall (1981) and Nowak (1995). The specimens CMNMA 18251 and CMNMA 21571 were labeled by the CMN mammal collection staff as putative hybrids after Lawrence and Bossert (1967).
