Quantum computing is a revolutionary technology that offers tremendous benefits to various industries, but it also presents significant cybersecurity risks. The unparalleled computational power of quantum computers poses a threat to cryptographic systems, including Rivest, Shamir, Adleman (RSA), Diffie-Hellman, and elliptic curve cryptography. As digitalization continues to advance, cybersecurity becomes a crucial concern. This chapter provides an in-depth analysis of the emerging cybersecurity challenges associated with quantum computing. It surveys existing literature, discusses the issues that need to be addressed, and highlights potential solutions. Additionally, this chapter highlights potential solutions and identifies the current state of the field. By the end, one can understand the implications of quantum computing for cybersecurity, emphasizing the need for ongoing research to track progress and develop effective security measures. Further research and testing of novel encryption schemes are necessary to ensure data and system security in a quantum computing environment.
