Conformal Representation

In this chapter, first, some of the key foundations of the conformal mapping representation are presented along with the Riemann mapping theorem. Then, the details of the Joukowsky transformation, which is being used to understand some principles of airfoil design, are presented. After that, using the Joukowsky transformation, the problem for inclined uniform fluid flow around a circular cylinder, as presented in Chapter 14 , is extended to the ellipse case by determining and evaluating various hydrodynamic characteristics of the flow and ellipse system.
