Evaluation of Assamese Speech Data Transcriptions by Levenshtein Distance

Large quantity of speech data is essential to develop speech technologies and natural language processing. This paper describes the experiences of LDC-IL in the evaluation of Assamese Speech corpus. An application was designed to evaluate the errors in transcription of speech data. The application evaluates the error rate of transcriptions based on Levenshtein Distance. The operation is conducted for the quality assurance of the speech data.
