This article explored numerous approaches and algorithms in the complex field of age and gender detection. It thoroughly contrasts and evaluates different strategies, highlighting both their advantages and disadvantages. This study offers helpful insights into the effectiveness and accuracy of age and gender detection systems by studying the use of various datasets.This review investigates several approaches, including conventional and deep learning techniques, while emphasizing important concerns like privacy and bias reduction. Also, it looks at recent developments like data fusion and fairness issues. An overview of the whole investigation of these various methodologies is provided in the abstract, laying the groundwork for future study in the area of computer vision and machine learning that intends to support the development of more precise, moral age and gender detection systems by academics, professionals, and politicians.
