An Energy and Coverage-aware Optimal Routing Algorithm for Mobile Sink to Maximize Network Lifetime for Wireless Sensor Networks

Due to dynamic changes in the environment of underground coal mine (UCM), the mining area has become hazarodous that set down the miner lives in to high risk. Therefore, there is a need of continuous monitoring the of the environment. With this motivation, we implement wireless sensor networks (WSN) within the coal mine region, to maximize UCM coverage. Moreover, due to the limitation of small battery of the sensor in WSNs, there is a research gap in addressing the problems of network lifetime. In this paper, we propose a method to solve the coverage area and network lifetime problems.Results of a comparison between the proposed work and an existing algorithm indicate that the proposed algorithm outperforms the existing algorithm.
