File Sharing Through Cloud-Based Systems Utilizing Block Chain Technology

Suman Srivastava, Snehil Raj · 2024

Cloud computing has swiftly gained prominence in the technological landscape, experiencing a significant surge in market share over the past three years. This document presents an inventive methodology for secure file sharing via the cloud, integrating block chain for secure transactions and file viewing. Traditionally, individuals have utilized file shredding software, with some exploiting these applications to monetize their work through file sharing. Well-established platforms such as Chegg and Scribd provide users, including students, researchers, and freelancers, a platform to publish their work, often necessitating a membership for access. This membership model involves payments made to the application rather than directly to the author, establishing a dependence on third-party intermediaries. We offer a novel solution to overcome this obstacle called “Cloud-based file sharing using Blockchain.” With the help of proposed program, users may easily exchange data with others using a cloud-sharing technique backed by blockchain, all without the need for third parties. This method makes it easier and more efficient to store and share information across cloud networks. Users typically give up control when they transfer data to the cloud, leaving their data vulnerable to security threats. The paper presents an encrypted secure file-sharing system for the cloud in order to address this issue. A unique file-sharing method is delineated, where transactions for viewing files are conducted through a blockchain, ensuring secure and direct exchanges between users. This approach augments the integrity and confidentiality of data in cloud-based file sharing.
