Star Shape Based Physical Unclonable Function for Smart Home Security
Shubham Jain, Shruti Taksali · 2024
This model explores the involvement of the star-shaped Physical Unclonable Function (PUF) in enhancing home security by reducing the susceptibility to various hardware attacks, including side-channel attacks, cross-protocol attacks, and many more. The star-shaped PUF’s design utilizes mux, demux, and latches implemented through Verilog, with a focus on optimizing power consumption, timing, utilization, and temperature of the device. The PUF significantly mitigates the risks associated with side-channel attacks and other hardware-based vulnerabilities by effectively reducing these parameters. Leveraging Verilog for design ensures the quality and properties necessary for robust home security systems. This model underscores the efficient implementation of mux, demux, and latches, and their combined effectiveness in the form of stars reduces power consumption as well as area requirements for hardware security purposes.
