How to make images less power-hungry: An objective benchmark study

In this paper, we explore and propose a new taxonomy of methods aiming at computing energy-aware images. Such methods adapt the content of images to make them less power-hungry when displayed onscreen. We objectively assess these methods by considering two dimensions: the fidelity to the original content before being displayed and the energy consumption reduction.
