Nguyen Tien Dung, Phạm Chiến Thắng, Ta Thi Nguỵet Trang, A. Prasanth · 2024

The convergence of the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) and blockchain technology has the potential to revolutionize the healthcare industry by enabling personalized healthcare systems. However, this convergence also presents several challenges that must be addressed. One major challenge is the integration of IoMT devices and systems with existing healthcare infrastructure. Another challenge is the need to ensure patient data security and privacy, as using IoMT devices and blockchain technology can potentially expose sensitive medical information to cyberattacks. Despite these challenges, the convergence of IoMT and blockchain technology offers several potential use cases in the healthcare industry. This chapter discusses the use of blockchain and IoMT in healthcare. The difficulties people and healthcare institutions can face when adopting this cutting-edge technology are also covered. Overall, the convergence of IoMT and blockchain technology holds great promise for the future of personalized healthcare. Still, it is important to carefully address the challenges and limitations to realize its potential fully.
