A Comparative Analysis of Image Enhancement Techniques For Improving Blurry Identity Images

In digital image processing, enhancing the quality of Aadhar card images is paramount to ensure legibility and extract valuable information. This study investigates a comprehensive range of image enhancement techniques used to improve the quality and usability of Aadhar card images. The primary goal is to extract essential details and enhance the overall image's quality for future reference and digital preservation. The methods employed include Gaussian filtering for noise reduction, gamma correction for contrast enhancement, Unsharp Masking for edge enhancement, and contrast-limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization (CLAHE) for improving overall image contrast and details of the blurry Aadhar images to evaluate the quality of resultant images two performance matrices are used Entropy and Standard deviation. The proposed approach is notably simpler and can potentially enhance the quality of archiving documents in digital images.
