Optimised Intelligent Coordination Between Electric Vehicles and Smart Grid
Debjani Bhattacharya, Sawan Sen · 2024
Electric Vehicles (EVs) have become popular and appealing vehicles due to technological development, environmental issues, and societal considerations. Electrical distribution networks have experienced significant stability, and reliability effects as a result of this trend. EV charging that is unplanned and haphazard can increase power losses, overloads, and extreme voltage deviations, all of which are harmful to the security and dependability of growing smart grids. This study suggests a unique method for organizing the charging schedule of several electric vehicles (EVs) in a smart grid system at a reduced cost and power loss. This study primarily focuses on the power cost with and without time scheduling once the various zones in the system have been identified using the proposed Zone Clustering Index (ZCI). Additionally, power flow and transmission losses have been computed. Particle swarm optimisation (PSO) has been used for cost estimations. Results from testing the suggested approach on a modified IEEE 30 bus system are highly encouraging.
