An Exploratory Study on Fuzzy Image Processing

Romisha Romisha, Shruti Vashist · 2023

In the present context, digitization revolutionizes the concept of decision-making and the digital imaging is one of the fastest emerging tools considered in the decision-making. It is the well-known fact in industrial applications, the extraction of direct information from human eyes is not considered as the practical one. The information is extracted using the medium called image processing which in general extract the raw data from the image and then converted into the important information using the processing method. Here, it is exaggeration to say that the smaller deviation in image attributes leads to failure in the extraction process. Therefore, it is pertinent to capture the attribute at micro level with utmost priority. For such micro-level consideration, the application of fuzzy-sets in the processing techniques supports in comprehension of the visual properties of the images and enhancing them to facilitate the extraction of useful information. The present study explores the existing models used in the processing and the limitations of the methods. In-addition, the study will report on the application of fuzzy-based image processing models which are far better than the traditional method.
