Our daily life starts with one or the other form of Communication. It plays a very important role our day to day life.Hearing and speech-impaired people find it difficult to communicate due to the communication barrier. The need for a translator every time while conversing with a person makes their communication speed slower. In addition, with the current availability of over 300 sign languages, it is highly impossible for two people to know the same sign language for communication.Smart gloves with TinyML implementation can provide better means of sign language recognition and help a hearing or speech-impaired person to communicate without any inhibitions by giving accurate results. This paper explores the implementation of smart gloves for recognition of the most popular sign language, American Sign Language (ASL) using TinyML on Arduino Uno along with flex sensors.
