Statistical Analysis of Bitwise Early Termination for Iterative Multiuser Detection in IDMA Systems

This paper statistically analyzes the bitwise early termination (BET) technique, which was recently proposed to reduce the latency of the iterative multiuser detection (MUD) in interleave division multiple access (IDMA) systems. The average numbers of iterations are measured for all the bits in a frame, and the corresponding results are analyzed in detail. From the statistics acquired, future researches can be initiated to further improve the performance of the BET and IDMA systems.
