Manish Jhangiani, Atul Agrawal · 2023
Intelligent tutoring systems (ITS), which use technology to deliver individualized and flexible learning experiences, represent a paradigm change in the field of education. An overview of the theoretical underpinnings, efficacy, difficulties, and potential of ITS is given in this abstract. ITS utilizes constructivist ideas and scaffolding to lead learners toward a better understanding by drawing on cognitive psychology and learning theories. Studies showing better learning outcomes and engagement provide empirical proof of ITS’s usefulness. Personalization, which adjusts material and tempo to suit each learner’s requirements, is the defining characteristic of ITS. Affective factors are also taken into account, and training is modified in response to emotional cues.
