Abstract Code based cryptography is an important class of post quantum cryptography that depends on the strength of hard problems in coding theory which is hard to break even using quantum computers. Code based cryptosystems generally exploit the properties of Linear Block Codes to create quantum resistant schemes for presumed quantum era. Non Linear codes are less explored than linear codes in code based cryptography because they lack a general structure, hindering their compact representation. We propose a novel method to formulate a variant of McEliece cryptosystem which enables the use of Non linear codes in Code based Post Quantum Cryptographic systems providing comparable security and maximum possible information rate for a given set of code parameters.
