Improved Tree-Based Data Dissemination Protocol to Prolong Lifetime of Sensor Nodes for Internet of Things

Ritika Ritika, Suneet Kumar · 2023

IoT is a network in which the sensor nodes are capable of entering or departing the network according to their wish. The network is deployed at distant locations and its nodes are of small size. Therefore, the issue of energy consumption is occurred in IoT. The base station (BS) receives the data which several sensor nodes have broadcasted. The similarity among the data of distinct SNs is identified and removed to employ the procedure of decision-making. Furthermore, the received data is utilized in BS at local level and its transmission is done to the networks located at distant locations. The prior work implements Tree based data dissemination (TEDD) to prolong the duration of network. It is consisted of two-level hierarchies for mitigating the energy consumption of internet of things. The TEDD protocol selects the CHs (cluster heads) based on the distance and energy. This work focuses on enhancing the TEDD routing algorithm so as the life span of network can be prolonged.
