Ecosomatic Performance Research for the Pluriverse
Daniel Ìgbín’bí Coleman · 2024
In this set of practice pages, Daniel Ìgbín’bí Coleman discusses his ecosomatic methodology for research practice in the pluriverse. He thinks through his work in San Cristóbal de las Casas where he participates in and alongside struggles for the livelihood of women, queer, and trans people who are Black and brown and against state forms of terror and violence, like feminicide and disappearance. In Coleman’s ecosomatic approach, the goal is to create containers for the metabolic process of tracing through time and participation in lifeworlds—a pluriversal negotiation away from singular narratives that attempt to create easy histories of place.
