This chapter examines the uses of optimized distributed systems (an enhanced version of traditional distributed systems) in healthcare. The chapter opens with an introduction to the concept of distributed systems, their architecture, and their applications in diverse industries. It then discusses the difficulties that healthcare practitioners encounter due to poor communication and limited services, which have led to the development of telemedicine and big data analytics. These methods, however, encountered difficulties, leading to the creation of optimized distributed systems that provide unfettered parallel data processing, fault tolerance, and increased availability. The chapter goes into detail on the benefits and impact of these systems in the healthcare business, such as enhanced patient care and lower costs.
