AES and its Multiple Modifications for Various Applications

Network security is achieved by using cryptographic algorithms. Encryption algorithms with suitable key is used to change the original form of data into a secured format which are used in variety of applications. There are several algorithms coming under the term symmetric and asymmetric cryptography but to achieve maximum security a commonly used and proposed algorithm is Advanced Encryption Standard (AES). This review paper focuses on how modifications in AES is performed and the proposed model can be compared to improve the performance parameters for efficient utilization of algorithm by maintaining confidentiality, reducing processing time in variety of applications.
