This paper demonstrates the design and development of an autonomous nano drone for surveillance and inspection of industries.Visual inspections are vital to maintaining the assets of any industry. In industries that use boilers and pressure vessels, inspections are necessary not only to save money but also to save the lives of many. While surveying the fields, there are substantial risk factors involved for the safety inspectors.Toxic substances cause health hazards like irritation and sensitization to something as serious as carcinogenicity.Surveillance and inspection in such risky environments might require the aid of unmanned systems.Nano drones are one category of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) that weigh less than 250 grams. The granularity of surveillance can be improved for industries with the help of these drones because of their smaller size and lighter body, which makes indoor maneuvering relatively easy.Coming to operations, an autonomous mission can be planned with mission planner software, and changes can be brought on the flight if needed. This will help with detailed indoor inspections in a relatively less period of time.
