Over the last few decades, reversible logic has sparked the interest of a large number of researchers, particularly because of its potential application in quantum computing. To overcome the limitations of a given set of basic gates, it is common practise in the construction of reversible gate structures from basic gates to employ ancilla bits. This practise is done in order to remove restrictions on the types of gates that can be generated by a given set of basic gates. Its low heat generation makes programmable reversible logic a good potential logic design style for applications in modern nanotechnology and quantum computing.Toffoli, Feynman and Fredkin universal reversible logic gates based on QCA technology are presented in this paper, along with their design and performance analysis. These logic gates are both space and power efficient. The proposed designs of QCA reversible Toffoli, Feynman, and Fredkin reversible gates, as well as their implementations in full adder, are demonstrated.
