As lots of innovations for automotive vehicles have led an increase in the number of electronic control units (ECU), virtualization has gained prominence as a solution to reduce the number of ECUs. While existing approaches have focused on reducing the required hardware resources by virtualization, this paper suggests an optimized solution to reduce the energy consumed by hardware resources with a further advanced virtualization architecture supporting system-level low power mode. The evaluation results indicate that this architecture not only consumes low power but also has a short transition time from low power mode to normal mode.
