SpeechSheild: A Comprehensive Journalistic Platform for Video Interviewing

In present-day journalism, the role of whistleblower or informer has significant value. But sharing critical information sometimes brings havoc to them, and may even hamper their personal safety and security. In the era of modern technology, an interviewing platform with privacy protection may bring a dynamic change in this aspect. So, this article proposes a comprehensive journalistic platform for video interviewing through face de-identification. For this, the required features were derived through a literature review and content analysis. Based on those, the system was designed and a prototype was developed. After that, the prototype was evaluated and the findings showed 91.594% accurate blurring rate, 91.53% correct report generation, and a 4.24 rating on user satisfaction on a scale of 5.
