The introduction of traditional handicrafts through experiential courses provides a unique opportunity for learners to engage with the production of handiworks, contributing to the preservation and continuation of cultural heritage. However, the extended class hours may lead to learner disinterest, while the intricate nature of certain handiworks makes completion within a brief period challenging. This paper proposes an innovative immersive learning approach that merges virtual reality technology with embodied interaction to deliver an enhanced learning experience for Canton porcelain. Learners will identify corresponding porcelains based on the patterns presented within a task list, and subsequently engage in the virtual scene to recreate the production process of Canton porcelain, simulating key painting techniques. Our research findings demonstrate that the immersive learning mode enables learners to rapidly develop their understanding of Canton porcelain, facilitating mastery of core painting techniques in a condensed timeframe.
