Nowadays, documents are of great significance in diverse domains, particularly in academic contexts. Maintaining the reliability, authenticity, and proper storage of documents is of the utmost importance. The existing systems face challenges while dealing with document verification, including the inability to prevent modifications, document forgery, and lack of proper storage facilities. To address these challenges, Blockchain technology offers promising solutions. The immutability property of Blockchain prevents modification of data by any entity. Moreover, the cryptographic hashing with the digital fingerprint of Blockchain ensures data and its owner authenticity along with storage facility. In this paper, we present a framework that utilizes Blockchain technology for document verification where students' academic documents have been considered as a case study. By leveraging the facilities of Blockchain, the proposed architecture ensures proper document verification and mitigates the risks of document tampering. The experimental analyses demonstrate that our proposed framework precisely performs the document verification processes by preventing modifications, confirming authenticity, and ensuring proper storage facilities, compared to state-of-the-art architectures.
