G. Sai Arunanshu, Kathiravan Srinivasan · 2023
In the current world everyone depends on the internet for all activities such as communication, work, entertainment, shopping, financial transactions etc. This has made all the users around the world vulnerable to many cyber threats. Issues like data breaches caused a loss of around ∃4.35 million in 2022 alone. Around 236.1 million ransomware attacks occurred globally in the first half of 2022. Anti-Virus software, being the only wall of defense against these attacks, keeps upgrading themselves, but research shows that malware keeps upgrading too, thereby, avoiding detection and causing harm. So, with the help of the open-source tools like Metasploit and AsyncRAT, the paper mentions the steps to create our own malware and Random Access Trojans to detect fraudulent Anti-Virus Software in the market. To support the claims, paper also includes the steps to test the malware on different target Anti-Virus software which are deployed on different virtual machines hosted from VMWare.
