Collaboration is a communication process in which two or more people, teams, or organizations work together to achieve a common goal. Users in the collaboration expect communication to be secure and trustworthy so that essential information may be exchanged appropriately and the risk of sensitive information leakage is avoided. When communication takes place in a public setting and money is involved, trust and security in the partnership become even more vital. Blockchain technology has attracted a lot of attention in recent years because it guarantees trust and security during communication. It was found to be more appropriate for decentralized applications in which communicating entities do not know each other but want to establish trusted communication and interact with one another. To this end, this paper presents the design and implementation of smart contracts for the blockchain-based secure collaboration to ensure trustworthy communication across users where money is involved. The proposed application is developed on the Ethereum blockchain framework as it offers secure communication and currency. Also, we present the web application that implements the proposed model.
