The Internet of Things facilitates the integration of communication systems and applications such as infrastructure management and environmental monitoring, so privacy and security techniques are crucial for the imminent of the Internet of Things. It empowers electronic devices around us to share information with other network members, recognize actions and vicissitudes in their environments, and perform independently without human interface. The swift development of the communication in Internet leads to larger networks and emerging security threats. In maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and accessibility of data, intrusion detection systems (IDS) play a vital role by actively preventing network intrusions. Machine learning based IDS systems are becoming effective solutions for detecting network attacks.
